See the Fruits of your Labor

 Weddings can be expensive. There are a lot of costs. The costs of flowers, centerpieces, wedding favors, ceremony space, reception space and cake add up. You also spend a lot of time and thought picking the right color scheme and general look of your wedding. Most videographers will make sure all this is captured on video before the wedding begins. A photo will just not bring it to life the same way video will. A photo can’t compare to a pan of the room in all it’s glory or a close-up of the centerpiece that pulls out to a wide shot of a group of tables. I’m not trying to belittle photographs but I think you are short changing yourself if you don’t get both services. I know you are spending a lot of money and you may think that it is one cost that you can do without but just think about it. Will you have those flowers, centerpieces or cake after the wedding? You may have a sampling of things but you will have it all on your video. When you look at your video for the first time you will see the fruits of your labor. You will see that you made the right decision in choosing that ceremony space and everything inside. When you look at it in years to come it will transport you back to that time.

Experience the Details

As you nervously, joyfully walk down the aisle, a video will capture every second of that experience. How you couldn’t stop smiling or slowed your breath to keep from crying. How your mom looked at you when you walked passed her and how your father held your hand tightly to support you and show his pride. A video will capture how the groom was being the perfect host before the ceremony began and how he couldn’t keep his eyes off you when he saw you in your dress for the first time. He may even shed a tear.  While you’re taking photos, your videographer will be videotaping the cocktail hour that you are missing or people getting settled into your reception space, your family reconnecting after months or years of not seeing each other. At the reception, a video will capture your entrance, the entire first dance, your expressions, smiles, laughter, music and when Aunt Judy almost knocked someone over trying to get the bouquet along with those rehearsed dance moves. Sound can be a powerful tool. All the sounds of your wedding will be recorded. You will hear how the crowd greeted you when you came in, clinking of glasses, relatives chanting or cheering you on. I could go on and on but I think you get the idea. Videography brings the event back to life. It gives you an opportunity to truly relive all the events of the day and the emotions that come with it.

A video is a keepsake for the couple for generations to come. It is a wonderful way to remember family members that have passed on. Video gives you an opportunity to see you grandmother’s smile, hear her laughter and experience her bubbly or reserved personality again. Some videographers get relatives on camera wishing the couple well. That memory takes it to another level. Imagine telling your grandchildren about your mom and having a video of her to show them. And what about the people who couldn’t show up. You can send them a copy of the entire wedding. They will feel like they were there.

I know it can be expensive but there are reasonable videographers out there. Be sure to see examples of a videographer’s work before booking them. It is well worth the extra cost. It is one of the wedding expenses that will continue to give you joy for years to come. Don’t miss out!
